Strength and Conditioning is all about “total” fitness, performing well at any & every task imaginable.

Personal Training in a Group Environment

In each class you attend you will be warmed up, shown the exercises in the workout and appropriate scaling, you will be timed, encouraged, motivated and then cooled down at the end. There are also experienced trainers who will give you individual attention, correct your technique and make sure you are doing the movements safely. You will receive advice on nutrition and your progress will be monitored so that you are on track to achieving your health and fitness goals!

The CrossFit Program Works

The CrossFit program has been proven and it works – you will get FITTER, FASTER and STRONGER! Most people who go to the conventional gym are wasting their valuable time, doing the same routine day in and day out. We’ve seen it all before, people not knowing what they are doing and not knowing how to motivate themselves. When training on your own, it’s also hard to step out of your comfort zone as opposed to training in a group environment, so your body is never pushed beyond this and forced to adapt. This type of training is not sustainable and you will lose interest very quickly. Here, you won’t even see the same workout for a couple of months at a time. Our workouts are constantly varied so it keeps it interesting and by throwing different challenges at your body, your body will adapt by getting stronger and fitter! And it’s motivating when you see improvements and get results. You will notice a difference in how you look, how you feel, strength and overall fitness.

Every member becomes a part of the community, a community of dedicated people who are committed to improving their health and fitness. All our members get to know each other and become friends. You will find other members will cheer you on during the workouts and encourage you to finish.

Non-Threatening Environment

​Our CrossFit “box” has NO MIRRORS and NO EGO! All our members are not there to show off or admire themselves in the mirror. They are there simply to get fitter, improve their health, and have fun while doing it!

We Don’t Use Machines… We Are The Machines!!

Our gym is like an adult playground – with such a variety of movements, the training is fun and it’s a motivating environment to work out in. The training involves using barbells, bumper plates, kettlebells, box jumps, medicine balls, dumbbells, pull-up bars, gymnastic rings and much more. We even do challenging things like climbing ropes, flipping tyres and running with sandbags! By not using machines, our exercises build more core strength and strengthen the whole body more effectively.

Functional Movement

All our movements are “natural” movements such as lifting, pulling, pushing and squatting – preparing your body for everyday life. We use a broad range of these functional movements which are essentially all about moving large loads, over long distance, quickly. Rather than working muscles in isolation like conventional gym training, our exercises involve the entire body and this method has been proven to get balanced results much quicker. We aim to optimise physical performance in ALL the elements of fitness to produce “complete” athletes with REAL fitness.

Universal Scalability

CrossFit is for people of all fitness levels, from the complete beginner to the advanced athlete. Your needs and the advanced athlete’s differ by degree not kind. Increased power, strength, cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, agility, and balance are each important to the world’s best athletes and to our grandparents, maintaining optimal health and functional independence. If you think that strength isn’t important, consider that strength loss is what puts people in nursing homes.

CrossFit is unique in its universal scalability, meaning two people at completely different fitness levels can perform the same workout using movements best suited to each of their individual capabilities.

CrossFit is a Sport

CrossFit is the Sport of Fitness and each year there is a Reebok CrossFit Games in the US which titles the Fittest Man and Women on Earth. There are team events as well as Individual, even Masters events for athletes ages 40 and older right through to 60-plus! The CrossFit Games is one of the fastest growing sports in the World. In 2015 more than 272,000 people from around the globe competed in the Open, the qualifying event for The CrossFit Games.

There are also Games Days that you can compete in which are held at other local affiliates. These are more community events which encourage people of all levels to give it a go. There are usually Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Categories.
